Oscar Clavijo

Oscar Clavijo is a leader in Machine Learning with solid international experience in the technology industry. He currently works as Machine Learning Technical Leader at Mercado Libre, where he has been contributing for a year and a half leading innovative projects in the Machine Learning team in Bogotá, Colombia, applying the concepts of statistics, Machine Learning and Causal Inference in the problems of the e-commerce, advertising and marketing industry. With a previous career in companies such as Glovo, where he spent more than 4 years, Oscar held key roles in the development and application of predictive and optimization algorithms using advanced Machine Learning techniques and statistical models in Barcelona, Spain. As a Product Data Scientist at Glovo, he was responsible for building, developing, testing, and implementing algorithms for time series prediction, supervised classification, and real-time experimentation with A/B testing. Prior to his work at Glovo, Oscar stood out as a Data Scientist Consultant at Native, where he tested and supervised the application of Machine Learning solutions in the area of Computer Vision, as well as the development of new KPIs to ensure the correct understanding of the operations and the creation of automated reports and dashboards. Oscar has a solid academic background, including a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Operations Research from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. He also has a degree in Physics, from the same university. Additionally, he has obtained numerous certifications in areas such as Machine Learning Model Deployment, TensorFlow, Advanced Data Science, and Deep Learning. His experience and technical skills have been recognized in the academic and professional community, obtaining awards such as Second Place in the INFORMS OR & Analytics Student Competition 2018 and the SAS Scholarship in 2016. Oscar is a bilingual professional in English and Spanish, which allows you to collaborate and communicate effectively in international and multidisciplinary environments
